IBM i and z: Running the Mainframe and Freeing Its Data

Many enterprises still run their most important systems on IBM i and z. Contivos operates mainframe environments 24/7/365 through our global NOC, and moves mainframe data into modern cloud platforms in real time.

We replicate DB2 and other mainframe sources, including VSAM, with Qlik Replicate, so analytics and AI can use mainframe data without disrupting the systems that run the business.

Read the case:

The Challenge:

The lender needed to replicate DB2 data from its IBM i (iSeries) systems into Snowflake, and replace its existing change data capture tool before a hard contract expiry date.

Our Solution:

As the lender’s Qlik partner, Contivos led implementation support for the move to Qlik Replicate alongside Qlik professional services, migrating DB2 on IBM i to Snowflake with continuous change data capture.

What We Can Do Next

Where we’re taking this work, built on the same foundations.

AI on mainframe data

Assistants and models that use mainframe data without touching the mainframe.

Phased modernization

Moving workloads off the mainframe one domain at a time.
